Joann Abello, 74, of Barnegat, NJ passed Monday, September 13, 2021 at home. Born in Jersey City, NJ to her late parents, Dominick and Anna Patruno, she graduated from Lincoln High School and earned her Bachelors Degree in Education at Jersey City State College. While living in Jersey City she taught at Our Lady of Victories School. Joann moved to Carteret, NJ to raise her own family, where she taught at St. Joseph's School for 35 years. The recipient of numerous teaching awards, it was not uncommon for students who graduated to later thank her for the impact she had on their lives.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 52 years, Anthony J. Abello; three loving children, Anthony Abello (Shannon), Jason Abello (Marianne), Peter J. Abello; four cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Jason, Ryan and AJ Abello; her loving brother, John Patruno (Denise); devoted brother-in-law, Vincent Abello (Maryjane).
