Linus Frank Ballweg, age 86, passed away Oct. 15, 2021 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born June 16, 1935 to the late John G. and Frances C. Ballweg. Linus graduated Sauk City High School; class of 1953. Following High School Linus enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Theresa Brabender on Oct. 18, 1960. Linus worked at Prairie Plumbing and Heating for over 52 years. He was known for his gentle demeanor, his sly smirk, fun office antics with his coworkers and was known to many in the Sauk Prairie area as the "go to guy" at Prairie Plumbing. He served his community and built many long time friendships while on the Sauk City Fire Dept. for over 31 years, serving as Fire Chief for 1987-1990. He and Theresa bowled on the couple's league for many years; they enjoyed cards, dancing and crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Sandy (Jeff) Mason, Dennis (Sharr), Doug; 11 grandchildren, Jenna, Carissa, Erika, Anthony (Sarah), Caitlyn (Jamison), Kaytlyn (Josh), Noah (Joelle), Caleb (Alyssa), Julia, Jamie, and Nolan; great grandchildren, Cora, Connor, Evan, Malachi, Ensley and another expected in March; son in-law, John Weber; sister, Catherine Crapser and sister in-law, Maggie Ballweg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Weber; brothers, Victor, Valentine (Rose), and Alvin Ballweg and three infant sisters, Martha, Bernadine and Bertha and brother in-law, Pat Crapser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 21st at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. Linus' family respectfully asks that attendees wear masks.
