Harold Donald "Don" Perry, "The Yoddler" 93, of Arkansas City went to meet the Lord Monday, October 18, 2021. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Don was born April 16, 1928, to Erles and Hazel (Hills) Perry in Cedar Vale, KS. He attended schools in Cedar Vale and graduated from Cedar Vale High School. Don joined the Army Air Corps and served his country from 1946-1947 and 1950-1952 until his honorable discharge.
Don was a typewriter repairman in his younger years. He married Dorthy Foble and they had four sons. Don retired as a machinist from General Electric in 1990. He later married Rosa Porter. Don was an active member of the Trinity Baptist Church where he was the seniors group Sunday school teacher. He was also a Osage Resident Bible Study teacher and a member of the Silvertones. Don was the former owner of Don's Coins in Ponca City.
Don loved his family, friends, enjoyed fishing, walking, and singing, especially yoddling outdoors.
Survivors include his sons David Perry, James Perry, Jeffrey Perry, daughter-in-law Wanda Perry, grandchildren Jennifer Burion and husband Jerimiah, Angela Walker and husband Troy, Nicholas Perry, Justin Perry and wife Anna, Shera Neises and husband Greg, Jerry Perry, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorthy, 8 siblings, Carl, Marie, James, Jerald, Maxine, Charlie, Ronald, Mildred, and a son Phillip Allen Perry.
A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory. Online condolences may be made at www.rindt-erdman.com.
