She was first a teacher in Round Rock, Texas and then worked for the National Biscuit Company in Austin, Texas. She met Hank Andorka in Austin, Texas, who was stationed at Camp Hood. They were married in Eddy, Texas in 1943. Hank was transferred from Camp Hood to Fort Ord, California. After Hank's discharge from the Army, Hank and Sue moved to Lorain, Ohio to help run the family business, a bowling alley on Vine Avenue. In the early 50's, they moved to Long Island to manage another bowling alleys, but returned to Lorain in 1956. After Hank died in 1964, Sue was the manager of Andorka Lanes for many years.
While working the night shift at Andorka Lanes, Sue met Gil Chet who wanted to bowl one more jackpot game. She said okay, but only if Gil would take her to breakfast. She married Gil in 1968. After retiring from the bowling business, Sue became an office manager for the Lorain County Easter Seal Society. In 1986, Sue retired to Conroe, Texas to be near a daughter and son, and also her siblings who were scattered all over central Texas. Sue was an active member of the Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary in Conroe.
