Martin "Dale" O'Hara, 93, of Ottawa, Kansas, died on October 19, 2021, at Rock Creek of Ottawa. He was born on March 13, 1928, at Blue Mound, Kansas, the son of John Wesley and Laura P. (Moore) O'Hara. He lived in Olathe, Kansas, moving in 1969 to Ottawa.
He graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1946. He served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1947, stationed in Denver, Colorado. He married Norma Little in Fort Scott, Kansas on August 9, 1948. He worked in commercial construction throughout his life. He was a superintendent for Fleet Construction in Kansas City, Missouri from 1948 until 1969; a partner in Hawkins-O'Hara Construction in Ottawa from 1969 until 1974; and
owner/operator of O'Hara Construction in Ottawa from 1974 until he retired in 2018 at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters: infant daughter, Janet, LaNita Nelson and Karon London; brothers, Raymond and Jack O'Hara; and five sisters, Dorothy Ward, Nona Guey, Sheila Light, Ardis Lee, and Pauline Lasswell. He was survived by his wife, son and daughter-in-law, sister, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
