Mrs. Nellie Davis, 61, widow of John Davis, died about noon Wednesday at the home of a daughter in Lafayette, after a four-week illness. She was born south of Mulberry, the daughter of Samuel and Maria (McClary) Fickle. She is remembered by many here, as was her husband, who was a brother of Mrs. Samuel Lawson, mother of K. Samuel Lawson.

Mrs. Davis leaves three sons and three daughters, all of Lafayette. Two of the sons are veteran students at Indiana university. Miss Minnie Fickle of Indianapolis and Mrs. Aida Moore of Eyota, Minn., are sisters. Another sister now dead was the first Mrs. S. J. Elliott of Jefferson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held today in Lafayette and burial was in the Dayton cemetery.
