Sharon E. Carey, 79, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday evening at I.U. Health in Lafayette. She was born August 21, 1942 in Crawfordsville to Thomas and Helen (Lane) Oppy. She was a homemaker. She married Paul "David" Carey on July 14, 1963 and he survives.
Surviving along with her husband are her children, Penny Carey of Lebanon, Sean (Tammy) of Crawfordsville and Holly (Mark) Mayer of Logansport; siblings, Tom (Sue) Oppy, Sonya (Mike) Sosbe, Sheila (Jim) Fenters and Sandi Connally, all of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Alyssa Carey, Austin Carey, Cami (Zach) Riedel, Christian (Bailee) Hall, Brayton Carey and Colin Hall long with two great grandchildren, Qwinton Carey and Casen Hiatt.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Patty Bymaster officiating. Friends may call noon until services Saturday. Cremation will follow services.
