Geraldine Degree Weaver departed this life for her eternal rest on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville, NC.

She was born on December 21, 1940 in Kings Mountain, NC to the late Daisy McCree Willis and Elzalee Degree. After graduating from Compact High School in 1958, Mrs. Weaver attended A&T State University, but moved on to her calling to a beautician school where she graduated in 1960. She eventually started her hair stylist journey at Ella Mae's Beauty Shop where she met her future husband. In addition to her work as a beautician, Mrs. Weaver was also a N.C. registered substitute teacher and a faithful crossing guard at East Elementary School for many years. Most people also remember seeing her face as an employee of Family Dollar as well.

After moving her membership to Mt. Zion in 1964, Mrs. Weaver joined the missionary department, assisted with teaching Vacation Bible school, and was a member of Ada #7 Chapter of Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Walter Louis Weaver. She leaves to cherish her memory to her children, JeMyranee Weaver, Kings Mountain, NC, Kevin Weaver (Sheila), Concord, NC, step-daughters, Brenda Weaver, Cedartown, GA, Patricia Parham, Columbia, SC, Linda Monday, Los Angeles, CA, Sheryl Penn (Larry), Rome, GA; Sister-in law, Alice Wellmon (daughter, Cynthia), Wrightstown, NJ, Special cousin and niece Shirley McCree and June Pearson. There are also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Weaver will be held Saturday, October 23,2021 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will take place at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
