Irma Louise Pickett Glass, 91, of Baltimore died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care in Towson.

Born May 6, 1921, in Woodbine, she was the second of five children and the eldest daughter of the late Julia Yohn and George Pickett. She was the wife of the late Norman Glass.

She spent her life caring for and enjoying the many successes of her daughters and sons.

While raising her family, she was active in the affairs of her community and, in later years, enjoyed reading and keeping abreast of current events. Before starting her family, she had done her part for the World War II effort at Glenn L. Martin Aviation. She had taken flying lessons and enjoyed flying. She had returned to higher education at Baltimore City Community College later in life.

Surviving are daughters Amy Glass and Barbara Walker, both of Baltimore, Lisa Glass, of La Valle, and Carol Moore, of Aurora, Ill.; sons Gregory Glass, wife Robin, of Seattle, Wash., and Michael Glass, of Baltimore; granddaughters Amanda, of Aurora, Rachel and Lauren, of Seattle; brother Philip Pickett and wife Irene; a sister, Elizabeth Sell; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family viewing will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Gilchrist Hospice Center, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
