Denita Lynn Hawley, age 63, passed away from complications related to dementia peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2019. She was born February 26, 1956 in Independence, Missouri to Duane and Edith Hensley. She was a 1974 graduate of Jefferson City High School. During her marriage to John Hawley they had two children Clinton and Phillip in 1981 and 1986 respectfully. Denita spent the majority of her working years as an administrative assistant for nursing home administrators and state lobbyists.

Denita truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as chatting with friends, spending time with family and playing with her nephews and nieces. As a great listener, Denita had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her smile and laugh were infectious; she could light up a room with her dancing.

Denita was preceded in death by grandparents, Claude, Gladys, Tom, and Lorene; and father, Duane. She is survived by her mother, Edith; a sister, Tammie (and husband, Russ); brothers, Marty (and wife, Julie) and Tim (and wife, Amy); her two sons, Clinton (and wife, Brittny) and Phillip (and wife, Kristina); grandchildren, Stella, Edmond, and Rhys; and nieces, nephews, and several cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life and her birthday in Jefferson City on the 29th of February 2020.
