(obituary:) BISHOP, ESTHER MOO JIN, Age 78, of 3128 Olu St., Honolulu, passed away on February 4, 1979, at the Convalescent Center of Honolulu. She was born on February 20, 1900, in Honolulu, Hawai'i. She was a retired librarian at the Univ. of Hawaii, and is survived by a daughter, Esther Jo Chapman, a sister, Mrs Frank (Mary C J) Adams, a brother, James Hoe. Services over the cremated remains were held at Williams Mortuary's Chapel of the Chimes, Feb 9th 1979, with the Rev. Harold Jow officiating. Inurnment followed at O'ahu Cemetery.

Although born in Honolulu, Esther became a British citizen upon marriage to Percival Cooke Stewart. They both became naturalized American citizens in US Federal Court, Honolulu, on Feb 26, 1927 (see Honolulu Advertiser, 27 Feb 1927, p 1).
