Obituary:
Ranburne - Lois Cheatwood, 95, entered her Heavenly Home on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at her residence.

Lois "Granny" was a resident of Cleburne County, Alabama most of her life. She began her working career at the Cotton Mill in Blue Mountain, Alabama. She went on to work at a few other places and ended her working career at Lamar Manufacturing Company in Bowdon, Georgia.

During her retirement years, Granny enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her other hobbies included planting a vegetable garden each Spring, along with canning and freezing the fruits of her labor. Granny also had a green thumb when it came to her beautifully landscaped yard.

Lois was proud of her heritage but mostly being a member of Crumley Chapel Church of God, in Heflin, Alabama. She was an example of strength, courage, independence, and a little wit. Granny always kept her family laughing.

Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also honored her parents well.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Nora Brown; her husband, Marlin Cheatwood; their son, Mervill Cheatwood; a grandson, Shane McIntyre; three sisters, Lovella Brimer, Hattie Smith, and Ruth Freeman; and two brothers, Walter Brown and John D. Brown.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanette (Barry) McIntrye and Peggy Yarborough; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Crumley's Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Duran Teague officiating.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cheatwood, Larry Brown, Keith Smith, Austin McIntrye, Marc Cheatwood, and Shannon McIntrye.

Burial will follow in Crumley's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Crumley's Chapel Church.
