Memorial service for Delfina Saiz Sanchez of Hobbs will be held at 2
p.m. Thursday, December 19, at Prairie Haven Memorial Chapel. Elder
Clarence Benford will officiate. Cremation has already taken place.

Mrs. Sanchez, 74, in Hobbs died on Saturday, December 14, at her
residence. She was born January 28, 1945, in Artesia, N.M.

Service are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of
Hobbs.

Delfina was very hard worker and enjoyed doing different projects. She
lived over 60 years in the Hobbs area. Delfina loved her family and friends
and would bake birthdays for everyone. She was a member of Our Lady
Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Guadalupe Widman of Hobbs, N.M.; one
sister, Dominga Tavarez of Hobbs, N.M.; three brothers Andres Cortez Jr.,
and Ruben Cortez both of Hobbs, N.M., and Ramon Cortez of Houston, Texas;
two grandchildren Aaron Widman of Albuquerque, N.M. and Meagan Widman of
Hobbs, N.M.; two great grandchildren, Bianca Reed and Brihanna Reed, both
of Hobbs, N.M. and friends, with a special niece Linda Burleson. She was
preceded in death by both parents, Andres Cortez and Marcela Saiz, one son,
Victor Martinez III.
