Lennox Owen Stanley was born Feb. 6, 1944 passed away Sept. 22, 2021. He passed in the Portland, Oregon VA Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side.
Len was born in San Diego, Calif., to Dwight Walton Stanley and Adalaida Treganza Stanley. He graduated from El Cajon High School in 1962 and soon after enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his nine years of service, he was deployed to Vietnam for a nine month tour of duty with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Battalion. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with combat "V" for action during that tour. After his Honorable discharge in 1971, Len settled in Portland, Ore. He joined the Portland Police Bureau where he served his community for over 32 years as a Portland Police Officer.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena; son, Jason; and daughter, Elisa; as well as a brother; two sisters; and a numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family agree that he will be greatly missed.
Public Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m., Nov. 10, 2021, at Unity of Portland 4525 S.E. Stark, Portland, OR 97215. *PROOF of Covid-19 vaccine and masks required. Private family ceremony will follow at the Willamette National Cemetery.
