Carlyle P. Mahaffey, 87, of Rosewood Rest Home in Harmony died Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Rosewood Rest Home.
Mr. Mahaffey was born December 4, 1918, in Freeman, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Walter N. and Carrie Bauguess Mahaffey. He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired Town Manager and former Mayor of Richlands, VA.
Mr. Mahaffey is survived by his wife: Margaret Ireson Mahaffey; two daughters: Polly Mahaffey Goodner of Statesville and Melinda Mahaffey Mullins (Jim) of Harmony; three grandchildren: Tara Goodner of Statesville, Joshua Mullins (Gwyn) of Boone, and Ellie Mullins of Harmony; and one sister: Alma Anello of Bramwell, WV.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Singleton Funeral Home in Cedar Bluff, VA. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA.
