Funeral service for Mr. Dannie M. Box age, 70, of Gadsden will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. on October 29, 2021 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Chapel with his brother Charles Box Jr. and Blake Jones officiating the service. Burial will follow in Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of the service at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home.
Mr. Box passed away on Tuesday October 26, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Box Sr. and his sister, Mary Goodwin.
Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Box are his wife of 50 years Lucille Box; daughters: Rachel Westcott (Mark), and Rebekah Jones (Blake); mother: Alma Box; grandchildren: Michaela Westcott, Makenna Westcott, and David Jones; sisters: Judy Green (Tommy), and Vickie McCurdy (Gary); brother Charles Box (Janice); and many nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law: Pat Eaton (Tom).
Mr. Box preached at many places, and was also an active member of Antioch Church of Christ for over 40 years.
He worked with the Volunteer Fire Department #46 on Lookout Mountain. Mr. Box enjoyed mowing yards, trading guns, spending time with family, and especially loved having camp-overs with his grandkids as well as having Sunday dinner at his momma's.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and active men of Antioch Church of Christ.
