Bob was born to Herbert and Mildred Bowman. Following high school graduation, Bob studied civil engineering in Indiana while serving his country in the United States Navy, during WWII. He was honorably discharged in1946 at San Pedro, California. On June 26, 1944, he married June French, and after he was discharged from the Navy, they lived and worked for a short time on a large ranch in California. They saw an ad in a newspaper inviting settlers to "come and live in Idaho", so they ventured their way to dwell in Idaho, beginning in late 1947. Bob worked in Hagerman, then Blackfoot, where their two sons were born, and then in 1956 purchased a ranch in Lost River Valley near Moore. While ranching together with his family, Bob also worked in civil engineering for 25 years on INlEL site, and June worked as an elementary school teacher. Bob and his family enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he and June enjoyed traveling to such places as Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, Ecuador and spent several winters in Baja. Surviving are sons (Roy and Max), two grandaughters, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild; preceded by wife,June on July 3, 1994. Funeral services held Saturday, October 30th at Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93 in Arco.
