TSGT, Retired James L. (Sonny) Easley Sr. (87) passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021.
He was born in Halifax Va. to the late Arthur & Mary Emma Easley Sr.
Sonny joined the U.S. Air Force where he retired after 20 years. He worked for Phillip Morris and Anheuser-Busch in Williamsburg, Va. where he retired in 1997.
Sonny was proceeded in death by his wife Beatrice Easley; 2 brothers Leville & Robert Easley, son Thomas Bailey Sr.,
He is survived by his daughter Carol Renee Mills (Morgan Sr.), son James L. Easley Jr. (Sandy), brother Arthur Easley Jr., sisters-in-law Vivian & Nancy Easley, daughter-in-law Yvonne Bailey; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews; special friends Pinkey Wynder & Richard Johnson.
Visitation will be 12 pm -6 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Cooke Brothers, Newport News, Va. Services will be held at Cornerstone Worship Center International on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 12 noon. Mask are required.

BEATRICE 'TOP' BAILEY EASLEY
Mrs. Beatrice "Top" Bailey Easley entered eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Sentara Hampton General Hospital.
She was a native of Surry County, Va., and came to Hampton, where she received her education in the public schools. Mrs. Bailey was a former member of Queen Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ochell Lane and Clarstine Bailey, and brother, Frank Bailey.
Cherishing her memories are her husband, James L. Easley Sr. of Hampton; a daughter, Carol Renee' Mills and her husband, Morgan, of Newport News, two sons, Thomas Bailey, James L. Easley Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Hampton; eight grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; a favorite aunt, Ms. Mary Borden; a special cousin, Donnell Jones; a loving daughter-in-law, Ms. Yvonne B. Bailey, all of Hampton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Miracle Temple Baptist Church, 617 32nd St., Newport News, with the Rev. Floyd M. Blackwell officiating. Burial will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 10 a.m. Wednesday at 1507 Adams Circle, Hampton. Private viewing is requested by the family.
