Eunice Hann, 98, of Winterset died Nov. 8, 2007, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 12, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell and Pastor Lee Hirt officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Eunice Hann was born Aug. 27, 1909, in Madison County to Frederick V. and M. Eathel (McDonald) Kuntz and was a graduate of Winterset High School. She attended Simpson College and taught school for two years in Patterson. Eunice furthered her education at Boston University and, again, at Simpson College, from which she graduated. Her marriage to Paul Markley Hann took place June 25, 1932, in Winterset. She resided in several towns in Iowa where her husband served as minister — including Knoxville, Ottumwa and Des Moines — before returning to Winterset. Eunice was a member of the Federated Women's Club, A.A.U.W., PEO Chapter AG, First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the United Methodist Women (including two honorary life memberships), and Church Women United (being named Valiant Woman for 2007).
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Katherine Sawyers and Blanche Easter.
She is survived by one son, Bruce F. Hann of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Martha E. Jordan of Winterset; and six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one-great-great-grandchild.
Memorials given to the family will be forwarded to later designations.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel and Funeral Services in Winterset.
