A. Gary Self, age 87, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening, July 3, 2021 in Mt. Juliet, TN.
Gary was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir City. He served in the United States Navy and was retired from International Business Machine.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Kendrick Self; parents, John and Flossie Dubois Self; step-mother, Mary Frances Compton; brothers, Eugene Self, Johnny Gale Self; sisters, Janie Self, Eunice Self Dutton and Eula Mae Ewing.
Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Stephen Macdonald; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Michael Self and Kay Self; grandchildren: Mason and Kyle Gaines, and great grandsons, Cooper Gaines and Crew Gaines, Kristin Macdonald, Luke Macdonald and wife Lauren, Kristopher and Kendra Self; sisters, Carolyn Meadows and Marilyn Fitzgerald; brother, Dennis Self several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating.
