Kathleen Sue Brastad (nee Andersen), 69, passed away in Burnsville, Minnesota, on June 2nd, 2018. Known to her friends as Kathy, she was born on August 20th, 1948, in Tyler, Minnesota, to Cecilia (Kelley) and Viggo Andersen. Her father was a farmer and her mother was a schoolteacher. They lived in Tyler, Minnesota, with her older sister, Mary, and younger brother, Robert. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1966. Kathy moved to the Twin Cities later that same year where she attended vocational-techincal school for accounting, she worked at Ford Motor Company building ford trucks, that's where she met her future husband Jerry.
Kathy was married to Jerome O. Brastad on October 5th, 1985. They had two children, Kristen and Jared. She was an active member in the Church of the Risen Savior playing for 30+ years with the Messengers Choir. Her great joys included music, singing, reading, friends, and family. Strangers were merely friends she hadn't met yet.
Kathy will be greatly missed by the many people she had touched. Kathy is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children, Kristen Kennedy and husband, George, and Jared Brastad; and her sister, Mary Kult and husband Dave, also sister in law Patty Andersen Kathy is preceded in death by parents Viggo and Cecilia Andersen and brother Robert Anderson
