Robert Murray lived an upright and honest Christian life. He was converted early and united with the Mennonite Church in the building of which he had an important part.
Robert Murray was born in Scotland, May 3, 1846. While still a boy, he came to America with his parents who lived for some time at Nova Scotia. In 1866 the family came to Michigan settling in Lynn twp. Here he assisted not only in clearing their own land, but a great deal of the surrounding territory in St. Clair and Lapeer counties. Robert had a large share in making this part of the country what it is today, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W O Wilson, Saturday, July 23, 1927.
