Hewlett Duryea (1794-1887)
Townsend Duryea Sr died on 13th December 1888 after an accident and is buried on the property where he was living at the time of the accident. The property was then called "Parkside" and is now part of "Walmer Downs" which is approx 30 km North East of Balranald, NSW. The grave was in disrepair and in 1988 was renovated by his great grandchildren in perpetration for a family reunion on 13th December 1988, 100 years after his death. There was then a service conducted by a local minister at the gravesite to commemorate Townsend's life.
