BATESVILLE — Dustin Shae Carpenter, 31, and Sarah Ann Carpenter, 30, of Batesville died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007.

Dustin was born June 13, 1976, in Memphis; the son of Steve and Beth (Richardson) Carpenter. He was raised in Waldenburg and graduated from Weiner High School in 1994. After graduation, he continued his education at Arkansas State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. Dustin was the pastor of United Methodist Church in Paragould prior to moving to Batesville to manage Josie's Steak House.

He is survived by his parents; a son, Kieffer Mack Carpenter of the home; a daughter, Josie McKaul Carpenter of the home; and two brothers, Dylan Carpenter of Little Rock and Dayton Carpenter of Batesville.

Sarah was born Nov. 11, 1977, in Newport, the daughter of Jackie and Maggie (Fowler) Kieffer. She was raised in Weiner and graduated from Weiner High School in 1996. After graduation she continued her education at Arkansas State University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in education. Sarah taught physical education at Cushman Schools and also worked at Josie's Steak House which was named after her and Dustin's daughter, Josie.

She is survived by her parents, Jackie and Maggie Kieffer; a son, Kieffer Mack Carpenter of the home; a daughter, Josie McKaul Carpenter of the home; and a brother, Ryland Kieffer of Batesville.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Brown Chapel at Lyon College in Batesville.

Pallbearers for Dustin will be Chas O'Conner, Shad Pearce, Phillip Thompson, Thomas Harper, Don Tabor and Rex Ellington.

Pallbearers for Sarah will be Mark Kieffer, Mitchel Kieffer, Keith Halbrook, Wayne Davis, Steve Davis and Charlie Fowler.

The family will receive friends this evening from 5-7 at Brown Chapel.

There will also be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday in Waldenburg Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville, 793-4161.
