Alice (Frances) Triplett, 81, of Raven, Va., passed away Thursday, December 6, 2007 in a Richlands, Va.,, hospital.

Born September 20, 1926 in Raven, Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Lula Hess Southern. She was a member of Community Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, John (Spud) Southern and Robert Southern; two sisters, Muriel Asbury and Phyllis Blake. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family in her generation.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Franklin Triplett; one son, Rick Triplett and wife Judy of Raven; two daughters, Debbie Schwartz and husband Jim and Cindy Thomas and husband Alex both of Raven; nine grandsons, Brian Triplett, Greg Triplett, Nick Triplett, David Triplett, Brandon Schwartz, Stephen Schwartz, John Schwartz, Troy Thomas and Matthew Thomas; one granddaughter, Allison Thomas; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va., with the Rev. Allen Jessee officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA 24014.
