Kearney Lee Yancey, 94, of Liberty, MS., passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his residence. He was born October 13, 1927, in Sardis, MS., the son of the late Kearney and Daisy Childress Yancey.

Mr. Yancey was a retired Captain of thirty eight years with the United States Coast Guard , and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife of fifteen years Vera Lee Billedeau Yancey; two sons Matthew Yancey and wife Lea Ann, and Mark Yancey; four grandchildren, Mike Yancey, Dr. Cristy Yancey Spencer, Stewart Yancey, and Spencer Yancey; one step-daughter, Darlene Guillory; three great grandchildren; fifteen great, great, grandchildren; and six great- great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kearney and Daisy Childress Yancey; first wife Bernadet Coleman Yancey; one sister Tot Yancey; and two brothers, Bob Yancey and Leroy Yancey.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, MS., 10:00AM until service time at 12:00 noon, officiated by Reb. Greg Beaty. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Ms. with military honors.
