Mr. Billy Austin Davis, Sr., age 86, of Patterson passed away early Thursday morning (11/11/21) at Harborview Health Systems Jesup following an extended illness.

Born July 29, 1935 in Greensboro, Georgia, he was a son of the late John Craig and Cassie Lewis Davis. He grew up in Green County, Georgia and moved to Pierce County after marriage. He was retired as a journeyman mechanic with Georgia Power and had also worked for 20 years with Wayneline Furniture in Jesup.

He was a member of Offerman Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Grace Crosby Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and John D. McCombs; and brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Marie Davis.

Survivors include his 3 children, Austin Davis (wife Janice) of Blackshear, Ann Newton (husband Dennis) of Blackshear, and Stephen Davis of Patterson; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Davis (husband Jeffrey), Jennifer Johnson (Tony Thornton), Dustin Newton (wife Megan), Chandra Guest, Craig Davis, and Casie Davis; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Monday (11/15/21) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
