GODLEY — Susan J. Sanders, the loving and devoted mother, doting grandmother, daughter, dedicated life partner, and animal lover, departed from her physical body on Thursday, October 21, 2010.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel.

MEMORIALS: Donations to one of the following charities, "In Memory of Susan Sanders," would be appreciated to honor Susan's memory and her love of and commitment to animals and children: Operation Kindness, www.operationkindness.org and /or A Child's Hope Foundation, www.achildshopefoundation.org/donations.

Susan was a selfless, kind, and compassionate person who always put the needs of others before her own. She treated everyone with respect, cared genuinely about the welfare of people and the planet, and gave help to those in need without batting an eye. She was an avid animal and nature lover committed to spending all of her spare time with her family, showering her grandchildren with immeasurable love and affection, and being close to nature with Duane. She was the most devoted and fun-loving grandmother a child could ever know - making every game, event, function, and family trip. No one adored their grandchildren more than she did. She will be missed more than she could ever know by her grandbabies and her family. She was one of a kind, a true diamond in the rough, who will be forever loved and forever missed by those whose lives she touched.

She was also a hard-working and loyal employee of Exxon Mobil for 22 years and, as a long-time store manager, took a vested interest in her store, employees, co-workers, and customers. Her unmatched work ethic and desire to serve humanity should serve as an inspiration to others.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Walker.

SURVIVORS: Susan was survived by her devoted life partner of 14 years, Duane Young; loving mother, Joyce Randall; loving daughter, Shawna, and son-in-law, Brent, and granddaughter, Addyson; loving son, Bubba Sanders and daughter-in-law, Holly, and grandsons, Ridge and Ryland.
