Diplomat, mentor, friend, cherished colleague, brother and uncle, Andrew was born in Montreal and died unexpectedly in Ottawa.
In nearly 30 years with Global Affairs Canada, Andrew served abroad in the Canadian Embassy in Zagreb, in the Office of the High Representative in Sarajevo and in the Canadian High Commission in London. At home, he was a member of the Kosovo Task Force, director of the Global Partnership Program, director of the Humanitarian Affairs Division, director for Central America and the Caribbean and special advisor at the Canadian Foreign Service Institute. Perhaps his proudest achievement was his work on the Ottawa Treaty banning anti-personnel landmines.
Andrew enjoyed nothing more than gathering with friends over good food and drinks, sharing countless stories and just as many laughs. He leaves many friends at Foreign Affairs and from his days at Concordia University (class of 1991) and PCHS (class of 1984).
Survived by brothers Mark (Christiana Cavazzoni) and Brian (Becky Garceau), nieces Samantha, Margot and Isabel and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by parents Philip Shore (2005) and Heather Campbell-Shore (2010).
Cremation has taken place with private family interment planned for the spring. (Pakenham Union Cemetary)
