Ricky Vern Allen, age 68 of Lexington, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Purcell Municipal Hospital. Ricky was born May 15, 1953 in Okla. City, OK, the 5th of 7 children born to Oliver Wayne Allen Sr. and Wanda Elaine (Dean) Allen. He was raised in Lexington and attended Lexington Schools. Ricky joined the United States Army and served his country proudly as a member of the Infantry. Ricky was a self-made entrepreneur and owned and operated several businesses through out the years. His first was a painting business, Ricky Allen Contracting. He later worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co as a lineman, while at the same time earning his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Like many making their way through life, Ricky faced many challenges. He met a young lady at an AA meeting, who like him, was looking for a fresh start. They were perfect for each other, and on March 23, 1992, Ricky married Victoria Jones in Wichita Falls, TX. They first made their home in Lawton, before settling near Lexington in 1993. Together they raised three children, son, George and daughters, Kristen and Ashley. Ricky worked for the Department of Corrections at the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility, retiring in 2005 as a Case Manager. He continued to venture out, starting a hay hauling business and a repo business as well. Ricky loved a good laugh, and was always joking around. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and never missed a good garage sale. He cherished Victoria, his children and was all about his grandbabies. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Oliver and Wanda Allen; his brother Tony Allen and niece, Lynn Wooten.

Ricky is survived by: his wife, Vicky of the home; son, George Jones of Lexington; daughters, Kristen Jones of Lexington and Ashley Rhoads of Austin, TX; brother, Wayne Allen of Antlers, OK; sisters, Angel Taylor of Antlers, OK, Candice Morris of Gladewater, FL, Patty Jackson, Lou Dunn of Lexington and Tammy Nyberb of Sparks, TX; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Addison, Kaden, Kambri, Jr., Kash, Layton and Jackson, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
