Albert J. Blasingame, age 84 years, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007. He leaves to cherish his memories, five daughters, Toni (Peter) Smith of East Chicago, Indiana, Althea (Anthony) Allen of East Chicago, Indiana, Tracy (James) Jones of Lewisville, Texas, Carol Lynn Walls of Gary, Indiana and Kimberly Blasingame-Moore of Covington, Georgia; two sons, Stephen Blasingame of Gary, Indiana and Brian Blasingame of Gary, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren;special daughter-in-law, Darlene Avington of East Chicago, Indiana; and ex-wife and devoted friend, Barbara Hampton of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Albert is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Blasingame and his grandson, Marc Blasingame. The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 15 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C, 3711 Pennsylvania Avenue, East Chicago, Indiana with Elder David Blakely officiating. The Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with Family Hour from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Divinity Funeral Home, (new address) 3831 Main Street, East Chicago, Indiana 46312. Interment at Fern Oak Cemetery, Griffith, Indiana.
