Mr. Gossett was born in Clifton, SC, a son of the late Grover Cleveland Gossett and Nancy Elizabeth Willis Gossett.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. As a resident of Aiken since 1954, he worked at the Savannah River Plant for E. I. DuPont de Nemours for over 38 years.
Mr. Gossett is survived by his sons, Col (USAF Ret) Grover Michael (Cindy) Gossett, Aiken, Dr. Stephen E. Gossett, Lexington, SC, Robert G. Gossett, Graniteville; grandchildren, Maj Jason (Corrie) Gossett, Lauren Gossett, Capt Chase (Julie) Gossett, Rhett Gossett, Lea Ann Gossett, and Savannah Gossett; great grandchildren, Fox Gossett, Jacob Michael Gossett, Reilly Ann Gossett, Thomas Michael Gossett, and Mark Grover Gossett.
In addition to his parents, Grover was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lou Calvert Gossett; two sons, Phillip O. (Sandra) Gossett and an infant son; a granddaughter, Logan Gossett; a brother, Holman; and sisters, Agnes, Catherine, Rosa, and Charity.
A visitation and the funeral service will be held in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home chapel.
Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
