LOUISVILLE — Barbara Hetrick Compton 79, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, under Hosparus Care at Norton Brownsboro Hospital with family by her side.
She was born Jan. 5, 1942, and grew up in Maysville.
A graduate of Maysville High School, Barbara went on to attend Morehead State University. She loved her Church, her extended family, her dogs and was an avid reader.
Barbara is survived by her husband, James W. "Jim" Compton; daughter, Debra "Debi" Burger; and son, James Robert "Rob" Compton (Kathy); along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Zelma Hetrick; her brother, Jerry V. Hetrick; and her son-in-law, Allen Burger.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held at Hurstbourne Baptist Church, 8800 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, Ky. 40222 in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, with visitation immediately beforehand at 10 a.m.
