David Melvin Holmes, 75, of Lumberton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 12, 2021, while residing at Premier Living Nursing & Rehab in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Lumberton, NC on November 18, 1945 to the late Melvin and Edna Holmes.
He earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Methodist College and last worked as an instructor for adults with special needs at Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lynda Holmes and Mary Holmes Thompson.
He is survived by his sister, J. Diane Holmes of Marionville, MO; two nephews and a niece, Lane Benton (Vickie), Ryan Benton (Beth), and Amanda Benton.
A private service will be held at a later date.
