Shirley Fullem Kreger, 88, of Markleton, passed away November 11, 2021, in her home from acute leukemia. She was born March 12, 1933, to Alice (Sechler) and Gilbert Fullem in Meyersdale, PA. She graduated from Rockwood Area High School and for about three years volunteered with the Church of the Brethren Flat Creek Mission in Creekville, Kentucky and West Virginia. She was a nurse's aide at Meyersdale Hospital, volunteered for the American Cancer Society, and attended the University of Maryland Nursing School in Baltimore, MD. She and her husband Blair Kreger were married over 40 years. Later in life, she was an avid reader, gardener, genealogist, and traveler, taking many cross-country bus trips. She was a lifetime member of the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset. She enjoyed watching classic films and birdwatching. She loved good bargains and often found them at the local thrift stores. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by daughter son, sister , son-in-law, and granddaughter.
