JOHNNIE L. CARTER SR., 49, of Tampa died Thursday in Tampa. A native of Baxley, Ga., he had lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1964, coming from South Carolina. He was a self-employed air-conditioning mechanic and a Baptist. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and is survived by three sons, Johnnie L. Jr., Steve L. and Robert A., all of Tampa; one daughter, Deborah J. of Tampa; three brothers, Bronnie and Ronnie, both of Tampa, and Greg of Hazelhurst, Ga.; five sisters, Bobbie J. Mitcham of Tampa, Janice Moore of Fall River, Mass., Patsy Rowell of Myakka City, Toni Edge of Denton, Ga., and Lynell Taylor of Hazelhurst, Ga.; and eight grandchildren.
