Johnny Whitfield Riddle

Weaverville - Johnny Whitfield Riddle, 67, of 16 Riddle Road went to be with his Lord, Monday April 2,2007 at Mission Hospitals, Memorial Campus.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 1995 after 32 years as a teacher at Enka High School where he was the chairman of the Science Department and was a sponsor of several clubs.

He was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Travelers Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of North Buncombe High School and received hisBachelors Degree from East Tennessee State University.

He was the son of Lois Banks Riddle of Weaverville and the late Jeter G. Riddle.

Surviving in addition to his mother are are his wife, Melba Candler Riddle of the home; children, RonnieRiddle and wife Naomi of Weaverville, Melanie Riddle Davis and husband, John of Atlanta, Ga. and Melina Riddle Chevalier and husband, Andre of Atlanta, Ga. and grandchildren, Natasha, Laythe, Asia, Elizabeth and Walker.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating.

Entombment will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with his brothers in law and members of his Sunday School Class serving as pallbearers.
