Marie Kersher Smith, a beloved friend to many, graduated from this life and returned to her Heavenly Father on November 16, 2021.
She was born October 18, 1945 to William Lonnie Kersher and Dolores Marie Kersher.
She married John Smith on August 7, 1966 and was later sealed for time and all eternity on December 8, 1972. They were happily married for twenty-three years before John's passing in 1989. Marie was able to find love again and married Walter Moore on October 6, 1990. They enjoyed twenty-four years of marriage together.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dolores; first husband, John; and second husband, Walter.
Marie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was devoted to her faith. She enjoyed her calling as Ward Librarian and her various other callings she had throughout the years. She enjoyed listening to The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and requested to listen to them on her last days here on Earth.
Marie was known for organizing game nights for her friends and she loved to play any type of card or board game. She also enjoyed writing letters to her many, many friends. She made sure to keep in touch with all of those who made an impact on her life. Her kindness, love, and compassion will truly be missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 9:00-9:45 a.m., with funeral services following at 10:00 a.m., in the Taylorsville Tenth Ward Building, 4950 South 1950 West, Taylorsville.
Interment will be in the Goshen Town Cemetery.
