Sweeney McKinney Thompson, age 60 of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away from this life on November 22nd, 2021 in Talihina, Oklahoma. Sweeney was born on August 19th, 1961 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Betty (Jones) and Homer Thompson. Sweeney worked at the Choctaw Nation hospital in the housekeeping department for many years. He enjoyed watching sports, especially OU and OKC Thunder. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Sweeney is survived by his children, Kandice Austin and husband Jonathan, Claudia Keith and husband Alva, MaKyla Thompson, and McKinny Thompson; nephew, John Thompson and wife, Toni; sisters, Sissey Coley and Sonyea Miller; brothers, William Thompson and wife Penny and David Thompson; seven grandchildren, Tayla, Jessie, Kaleb, Jacob, Allie, Liam, and Kinslee, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Sweeney is preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Billy Thompson and sister, Faith Thompson Watson
Pallbearers will be Corey James, Mike Melton, Floyd WhiteEagle, Willard Johnson, Sonny Goins and John Thompson.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 26th, 2021 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 at 10:00AM at Good Springs Cemetery in Lenox, Oklahoma with Bro. Raymond Johnson officiating. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
