Services for Lydia Opp, 88, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Bismarck, were held Wednesday at John A. Gentleman West Side Chapel, Omaha. She died Saturday in Plattsmouth Nursing Home, Plattsmouth, Neb.
Lydia Geier was born in Colgate, Okla., on Oct. 8, 1897. She moved with her parents to Hazelton, where she was raised and attended schools. She married Fred Opp on July 5, 1917 in Hazelton. They farmed near Hazelton. In 1943 they moved to Bismarck, where they remained until 1978, when they moved to Omaha. Mr. Opp died in March of 1984.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Oliver (Elsie) Degerness, Watford City, Mrs. John (Claudia) Anderson, Fargo, Mrs. Eric (Frances) Rosin, Omaha, Mrs. David (Karen) Schrepple, Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Carl (Loraine) Steiner, Glenrock, Wyo., and Mrs. Ed (Donna) Criley, San Jose, Calif.; three sons, Orville and Jerry, both of Atlanta, and Jack, El Paso, Texas; 40 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
