Obituary for Barbara Ann Knox
Barbara Ann (Eastwood) Knox, 62, of Oskaloosa, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital. She was born August 10, 1959, in Leominster, MA. One of nine siblings, to Harold (Skip) and Marianne Eastwood. Following graduation from Arundel High School, Barb attended Indian Hills to earn her computer programming degree as an adult.

On July 1, 1978, Barb married Marlon Wolver together they had two children, JR Wolver and Teresa (Wolver) Akers. Later they divorced.

On April 24, 2004, Barb married Larry Knox with him previously having two daughters, Jen Stoneberg and Bobbi Jo Knox.

Early in her career she worked at JR's Maid Rite at the ATPIC Mall. She later worked at the Diamond Shelter, Dooley's, The Oskaloosa Herald, Pella Corporation, On The Green and was recently working at the Oskaloosa Herald. She made friends whenever she stopped to get their ads. She was loved by so many.

Barb was always the biggest cheerleader at her family's sporting events. baseball, football, softball, volleyball, bowling basketball and golf.

She was a member of the Eagles, a president of the of Eagles Auxiliary and the Eagle Riders, has also held many officer positions at the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary. Barb was an avid bowler. She had been bowling over 40 years. Teresa, and Barb bowled on a league every Sunday night. Many nights were spent camping down by the river and having the family stop by for dinner. The grandkids have so many memories with Nana and Poppy.

Barbs favorite time of the year has always been Thanksgiving and Christmas. The whole family would come over and squeeze in. It was always crowded, loud and buzzed with excitement, but Barb never wanted it any other way. She loved when all her family was over. Eating, playing games, and having fun. You will be missed Barb, but we will always leave a spot for you at the table.

Her family includes her husband, Larry Knox; their children, JR (Shari) Wolver, Teresa (Lucas) Akers, Jen (David Leib) Stoneberg, Bobbi Jo Knox; fourteen grandchildren, Carter VanDenBerg (McKenzie), Jori VanDenBerg, Jarrett VanDenBerg, Joshua Stoneberg, Vanessa Leib, Audrey Stoneberg, Jocelyn Leib, Jasmine Leib, Lindsay Akers, Tatum Wolver, Caycee Bricker, Traiton Akers, Truitt Wolver, Caitlyn Bricker; two Great-Grandchildren: Camryn VanDenBerg and Carsyn VanDenBerg; her mother in law, Anna Mae Wolver, Mother-in Law; two brothers: Robert (Kim) Eastwood, Darien, GA, Dennis Eastwood, New Bern, NC, three sisters: Karin Day, Springfield, GA, Kathy (Norbert) Gardepe, Lorton, VA, Linda (Mike) Farrell, Severn, MD; a sister-in law: Kimberly Eastwood, Boalsburg, PA.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Harold (Skip) and Marianne Eastwood, father-in-law, Roger Wolver, Sr.; and three brothers, Harold Eastwood, Richard Eastwood, and Thomas Eastwood.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Michael Dotson officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Tuesday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska County Conservation to benefit Eveland Access Campground.
