Death of Simon Keim at the Home for the Aged
Simon Keim, born March 7, 1850 in Homes county, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Aug 16 at the Old Folks Home in Eureka at the age of 80 years, five moths and 9 days. He entered the Home Aug 15, 1927.
Mr. Keim has had trouble with a hernia for some time past and in the last few weeks had a second attack and it was necessary to take him to the hospital, where an operation was performed. He got along nicely for a few days but last Friday bronchial pneumonia set in which was more than his constitution could stand and he passed away as above stated. He was brought back from the Methodist hospital in Peoria and funeral services were held at the Home at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, in charge of Ezra Yordy, with Schrock Brothers quartet furnishing the vocal music. Burial was in the Home cemetery.
Mr. Keim is a widower and leaves to mourn his death one son, Leander, of Haven, Kansas; three daughters, Mrs. Lillie Hart of Kansas City, Mrs. Jennie Pauls of Hooker, OKla, and Mrs. Fretta Newfeld of Dallas, Oregon. He also has two sisters and a number of nieces and nephews still living.
