Ronald W. Hamm, age 87 of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Monday, November 22, 2021 at Stevens Point Health Services with his family by his side.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 29, 2021 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Robert Schaller will officiate, burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites provided by the American Legion Post #9 of Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.

Ron was born September 13, 1934 in Wisconsin Rapids to Milton and Alice (Rezin) Hamm. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. Ron served in the U.S. Army during peacetime from 1955- 1957. He was employed in the finishing room at the Port Edwards Division of Georgia Pacific for 35 years. He married Carol Klappa on May 9, 1959 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Ron was a lifelong member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He coached boy's grade school basketball for many years, winning a city championship. Ron enjoyed golfing and belonged to two golf leagues and two bowling leagues. He loved fishing in Tomah on his Uncle's cranberry marsh, listening to classic country, Irish and Polka music. He enjoyed dancing to the waltz and the Polish Oberek. Ron and Carol loved to travel and had taken multiple trips to 45 of the 50 states. He loved the outdoors and growing trees. Ron had a passion for new cars, getting a new one every few years. He was a caretaker for his mother for many years, and was especially proud of his two sons.

Ron is survived by his wife Carol of 62 years, son Kevin (Cindy) Hamm, step-granddaughters Wendy (John) Vanatta, Darcy (Jon) Syverson, Kelly (Jon) Militimore, 9 step-great grandchildren, brothers-in-law Gale (Judi) Klappa, sisters-in-law Arlene Hamm, Mayi Hamm, Jane Hamm, nieces and nephews Brian (Suzi) Hamm, Roberta Hamm, Chris (Holly) Hamm, Mitch (Cheryl) Hamm, Jennifer (Larrie) Hayes, David Hamm, Madele (Germond) Olivares and Jamie (Tami) Klappa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Eric, brothers Harold, Dale and Pete Hamm, brother-in-law's Gerald, James and Allan Klappa and sister-in-law Elisabeth Klappa.

A memorial will be established in his name at a later date.
