Corey Lee James, age 59 of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away on November 21st, 2021 in Talihina, Oklahoma. Corey was born on December 27th, 1961 in Compton, California to Hilda (Monroe) and Bennie James. Corey worked as a detention center security officer. He enjoyed cooking and smoking meat, but was known for his famous potato salad. He loved watching sports, especially OU Sooners and LA Lakers. He always had encouraging words to share, and was loved by everyone. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Corey is survived by his children, Angela James, Katrina Prock and husband William, and Jonathan Adams; grandchildren, Hoyt, Evan, Kade and Jaslynn; sister, Janice Twist and husband Kevin; brothers, Russell James, Keith James and Mike Monroe, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Corey is preceded in passing by his parents, Hilda and Bennie James; sister, Bunny James; aunt, Buff Monroe, and grandma, Annie James.
Pallbearers will be Frank Johnson, Floyd WhiteEagle, Mike Melton, Boyd Ludlow, Jonathan Adams, William Prock

Graveside services will be on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at 10:00AM at New Talihina City Cemetery in Talihina, Oklahoma with Bro. Raymond Johnson officiating. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
