Veikko Hendrick Rantanen "Vic", died at the age 94 of on October 28, 2013 at his home in Ankeny, IA.

He was born the son of John and Mary Rantanen on May 6, 1919 in Brule, WI. He graduated in 1937 from Hurley High School

married Hilma Impola from Kimball, Wisconsin in 1943. They had two children.

He served in the US Navy as a radio operator in the South Pacific during WWII.

Vic was a talented carpenter and built and remodeled homes for families on the North Shore of Chicago and lived in Highland Park and Lake Forest, Illinois until 1983.

Vic was well loved by his family and is survived by his spouse

He was preceded in death by his son, Glen Rantanen.

We thank God for Vic's sense of humor, gifts in carpentry and his love and faithfulness to his wife Hilma and family. We will miss you Vic and turn you over into the hands of our Lord and Loving Savior Jesus Christ for the full life to come.

Funeral services were held in Ankeny, Iowa. His Christian burial will be held at 1:30 pm on November 1st at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, Michigan.
