Kirby was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa and attended Eagle Grove schools, graduating with the "Class of 88". Kirby spent most of his adult life in the Des Moines area with his first wife and their three children. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
On April 17, 2021, Kirby was united in marriage to Sasha Wieth (Dobbs). Kirby and Sasha were high school sweethearts and reunited after 32 years apart. The couple had no children together except for their fur babies, Finn, and Indie. Kirby will always be remembered for his infectious smile and his love for his family. He loved baseball, football, Star Trek, relaxing by the fire pit and grilling out.
A Memorial service for Kirby will be held at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30. Directly following will be a Celebration of Life from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, 1210 South Commercial. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
