Eliza was first married to William Clayton on March 12, 1846 at Chequest VanBuren Iowa he was 27 years old and she was 18 years old. They had two children, Lorenzo Clayton and William Amos Clayton. William Clayton (husband) died and Eliza (Gable) Clayton, married second Lorenzo Ellis on April 1, 1850 also in Chequest VanBuren Iowa and with this marriage they had four children: Gilbert Ellis (1853-1929), Ellen Nora Ellis (1857-unk), Emma Victoria Ellis (1860-1943), Charles Zenas Ellis (1863-1917). Apparently Eliza has no grave marker, therefore she had no "find a grave" memorial and I connected her with the information from her son Lorenzo E. Clayton.
