CHARLES C. ALTIS
Charles C. Altis, son of Nathan and Anna Altis, who once resided 2 1/2 miles north of town on the Bado road, died Tuesday night, May 23, 1939, at his home at Willow Springs.
He leaves a wife, and one son, Paul, age 12.
He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Virgie McFarland, Pittsburg, Kansas and Susie McFarland, Pittsburg, Kansas; and one brother, D.N. Altis of Willow Springs.
He was a member of Co. F. 140th Inf., in the World War and spent much time in peace-time military service. He was a volunteer for the World War in Capt. W.W. Durnell's company, which went out from Cabool in 1917.
The funeral will be held at the Baptist church in Willow Springs, Thursday, May 25, at 1 p.m. with burial in Greenwood cemetery at 2:30.
A military escort of his comrades in arms will be in evidence.
