It wasn't that long ago the Aagaard/Moller families got together and celebrated mom's 80th birthday. It was a happy wonderful event filled with laughter and good cheer. A happy memory to look back on. We all thought that there would be many birthdays and family reunions on that day. Sadly, we have lost mom.

She lost her battle recovering from surgery after a recent fall. She had already survived two surgeries from previous falls. I tried to see her most every day and called every night to say I love you.

I remember her carefully watching and explaining how I needed to carve a turkey or cut across the grain for a BBQ Tri-tip. She was a gourmet cook, told me that she could only boil an egg when she first married dad, yet she worked hard to master the art of cooking. No one could match her skill to prepare a Danish lunch and she loved to share it with all of us, her family.

Mom was a passionate gardener, she is famous in Denmark for the huge lemons which she would give to Edel, Svend, Else, Inge and all that visited from Denmark. She loved her avocado tree, her blood orange tree and her herb garden in her back yard.

Mom was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, she was adored by her grandchildren and great grand-children. Mom was the center of the Aagaard family. We will always remember her smile her laughter, those delicious Danish lunches, BBQ's and holiday dinners at Shady-brook.

I will always remember how mom would call me whenever I was sick, to comfort me and tell me exactly what I needed to get well. She was always there and willing to help out if needed. This was

her way with all of us Aagaard's.

It was heartbreaking for me to see her in these past few weeks in such pain and suffering. That suffering is now over.

My mom Lili Aagaard has gone home, to a much better place. She now is in that place where there is no more pain and suffering. There are no wheelchairs in heaven. She is home now, in our hearts, in our memories, in her devotion to her family, in her quiet and kind disposition, in her strong Danish will to keep all of us safe. She had a strong belief of independence and perfection. She is my heroine. She is one of the last family members of that GREATEST GENERATION defined by work hard, save more and spend less.

Mom set the bar high in her standard of generosity, openness and kindness all throughout her life. She was the most supportive spirit with everyone she knew and loved, and especially all of you, her family. In her eyes you were all superstars. She was always present and available when needed, soft spoken and thoughtful.

She will be missed but her spirit lives within all of us for our lifetime. I was so lucky to have such a mother.

I will always remember her this way. I hope you remember her this way as well.

With all our love Mom, rest in peace…..
