Bertha Lorene Williams, age 80, of Ozark, Arkansas died Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Ozark. She was an economics professor at the University of the Ozarks and retired from the United States Postal Service. Bertha was a former owner operator of P.J.'s Fina, U of A Alumni and taught Sunday School for the United Pentecostal Church in Altus, Arkansas. She was born December 26, 1940 in the Hickory Ridge Community, Arkansas to George and Almeda Flossie Dobson Umholtz. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ernest Umholtz.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Paul Wesley Williams of Ozark; special nephew, Paul Dewayne Lee of Denning, Arkansas; three sisters, Barbra Sanders of Ozark, Eva Patton of Altus, Arkansas and Geneta Stover of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a brother, Curtis Umholtz of Altus; many special nieces and nephews; and a special great niece, Evee Riggs.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 2, 2021 at The United Pentecostal Church in Altus with Brother James Larabel and Brother Larry Stacey officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home with burial at Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Burt Stover, Slate Sisk, Mark Stover, Billy Miller, Wesley Lee and Donnie Anderson.
